Achillea millefolium 'Oertel's Rose' ( Pink Yarrow )
Bright hot-pink blossoms slowly fade to white creating a dappled effect. Light green ferny foliage is attractive all season. Deadheading will promote continuous bloom. Deer resistant and xeric once established.
CULTURAL NOTES: All Yarrows benefit from well-drained soil with low to average fertility. Occasional shearing or harvest for cutflowers prolongs bloom and maintains best form.
NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Achillea' (named for Achilles, who supposedly learned of Yarrow's medicinal qualities from his mentor, Chiron the Centaur, and used it to treat his men's wounds on the battlefield) and 'millefolium' (thousand-leaved, referring to its ferny foliage) Gallon Pot
