Coreopsis verticillata Moonbeam (Threadleaf Tickseed) 3.5"
Mass of lemon yellow star-shaped flowers with light green airy foliage. Plant with Salvia, Nepeta ( Catmint ) or at the base of hardy Hydrangeas. Lovely, hardy perennial plant that comes back year after year. Excellent for container plantings!
- CULTURAL NOTES: Coreopsis in general thrive in poor to average soil with moderate fertility. Verticillata species break dormancy late leading many gardeners to believe they didn't survive the winter: Be patient and mark their location in the fall!
- NOMENCLATURE NOTES: Coreopsis: Greek 'koris' (bug) and '-opsis' (resembling) or 'buglike', thus the common name Tickseed, since the achenes resemble ticks. Verticillata: Whorled, referring to the leaf arrangement on the stems. 3.5" pot.
