Matteuccia s. 'The King' (Jumbo Ostrich Fern) Gallon
The Ostrich Fern is a large fern native to eastern America and parts of Europe. Produces edible fiddleheads. 'The King' is a selected variety that is larger , more heat tolerant and hardier than the species. Growing to 6' in cool moist climates, it will usually be smaller in cultivation. A wonderful fern for mass planting under trees, especially conifers as long as the soil is rich and can be kept evenly moist. Stunning when used as a backdrop for Astilbes and Hostas.
