Hibiscus syriacus Blue Satin is without a doubt the strongest growing, most floriferous blue Rose of Sharon. The SATIN series of Rose of Sharon is much more vigorous than the older varieties. Blooms mid-summer. Grows in any soil unless it is either very dry or very wet. Prune in late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned since it blooms in summer on new wood. Prefers medium moisture and well-drained soil. Deciduous shrub. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release organic fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. This shrub is shipped in a standard nursery trade 1 gallon container.
