Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus' (Porcupine Grass) One of our favorite large grasses, this Miscanthus has beautiful rich green foliage banded with yellow-gold variegation. It is a hardy warm season grass that sometimes won't bloom in the north, but the variegated foliage all summer makes up for that. The lovely large pink inflorescence when it does bloom just adds to the landscape value. Much better ornamental value than 'Zebrinus', or Zebra Grass, since it has a very upright growth habit and won't flop like Zebrinus often does. Nursery trade 1 gallon pot.
