Mass of lemon yellow star-shaped flowers with light green airy foliage. Deer resistant. CULTURAL NOTES: Coreopsis in general thrive in poor to average soil with moderate fertility. Verticillata species break dormancy late leading many gardeners to believe they didn't survive the winter: Be patient and mark their location in the fall! NOMENCLATURE NOTES: Coreopsis: Greek 'koris' (bug) and '-opsis' (resembling) or 'buglike', thus the common name Tickseed, since the achenes resemble ticks.
