Rich lemon yellow golden flowers on airy foliage makes a wonderful soft contrast with Salvias and other "spiky" plants. CULTURAL NOTES: Coreopsis in general thrive in poor to average well-drained soil. Avoid winter wet, and be patient in spring, as they break dormancy quite late. NOMENCLATURE NOTES: Coreopsis: Greek 'koris' (bug) and '-opsis' (resembling) or 'buglike', thus the common name Tickseed, since the achenes resemble ticks.
